Ophthalmologist
Bridget A. Sundell, M.D. is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist specializing in no needle-no stitch cataract surgery and laser procedures. Dr. Sundell was born in Virginia, Minnesota and after high school attended St. Olaf College in Northfield Minnesota graduating with a degree in Biology and Psychology. She completed her medical degree at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. She was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society as well as the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Dr. Sundell completed her Ophthalmology residency at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center. She is a member of the American Academy Ophthalmology and American Society of Cataracts and Refractive Surgeons.

Charles Ahrens, M.D.

Dr. Charles Ahrens is a board-certified Ophthalmologist. Dr. Ahrens grew up in Buffalo, Minnesota before receiving his undergraduate degree in biology/chemistry from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. After that, he completed his medical school degree at the University of South Dakota, Sanford School of Medicine, in Vermillion, South Dakota. He went on to complete a residency in ophthalmology at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Elisabeth P. Aponte, M.D.
Glaucoma Specialist
Dr. Aponte is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist and board certified cataract surgeon who obtained her medical degree at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, MN. She then completed her ophthalmology residency at the Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute. Dr. Aponte subsequently pursued specialized medical and surgical training in glaucoma during her glaucoma fellowship at the University of Iowa. She is a member of the American Glaucoma Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

John Bollins, D.O.
General Surgeon
Dr. John Bollins, DO, earned his medical degree and completed his surgical residency at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens and Columbus, Ohio. He then completed his surgical critical care fellowship at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Bollins has served as a trauma critical care surgeon and general surgeon at Duluth hospitals since 2007. During that time he served as Pediatric Trauma Director and also as Chief of General Surgery. After years of working as a hospital employed surgeon, he decided to start his own practice in 2020, Advanced Surgical Associates of Northern Minnesota. He focuses on excelling both in traditional and robotic surgery and has accumulated many years of robotic experience. Outside of work, Dr. Bollins and his family enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking, and spending time at the cabin.

Dr. Evans attended the University of Wisconsin La Crosse and the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University. Her surgical residency was completed at St Mary's Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey. Dr. Evans has extensive training in foot and ankle surgery, diabetic foot and ankle management, and wound care.

Edgar Saldaña, M.D.
